Royston Town Football Club – Home of the Crows

Football team and club marketing, copywriting and public relations services

The second oldest football club in Hertfordshire founded in 1872.

In a season which saw Royston Town FC break a number of records on the field including a 13-0 victory, the Club planned an attempt to break its own official attendance record of 876 set in 1993 against Aldershot Town.

Royston Town Football Club, ‘The Crows’, were in fine feather and after being promoted to the South Midlands Premier Division and then went on to win the championship!

Club President Alan Barlow explained: “This is the most successful season the Club has had since the late 1970’s, early 1980s, with our promotion back to the Premier Division of the South Midlands League and an appearance in the Division I Cup Final against Ampthill. So we’ve decided to try to make our last home game against Buckingham Athletic on Saturday 18 April a major event and ask the people of Royston to give us their support to break the record. “

With the help of local business, radio, press and the people of Royston the attendance to the match was a staggering 822 people (the usual attendance figure is 140 people!) sadly 54 short of the record set in 1993. There’s always next year!
