Cains is an international offshore law firm based in the Isle of Man and is at the forefront of the development of the Isle of Man as an international finance centre. Cains asked Peek to develop a new offshore law firm website for them to communicate their brand values more clearly.
Conveying Cains’ expertise and knowledge on a new website
Cains provides advice in the corporate, litigation, property and private client sectors to clients drawn from around the globe. They wanted to reflect their mission and values more clearly in a new corporate website and asked Peek to help achieve this.
The website needed to clearly convey Cains’ expertise and knowledge of how major organisations operate in established economies and emerging markets as this is a key differentiator for Cains. A library of briefings, articles and news was established that was populated with content to facilitate this, as well as retaining the more functional descriptions of the services and sectors that Cains’ covers. Building on Cains reputation as a “first tier firm” the website guides users through to the often complex issues, offering help, advice and points of contact along the way.
The initial objectives
- Convey content to the right audiences without alienating others
- Reflect the reputation of Cains
- Incorporate useful guides and information
- Update the Content Management system and create admin privileges
- Overhaul a outdated site structure and improve user journeys
- Increase use of the website in a number of key markets
Building on a brand reputation
Cains’ reputation has been built through the sustained provision of high quality work at response times expected by the global market.
“Impressive corporate and finance outfit advising on market-leading transactions. Frequently handles matters for national and international financial institutions and corporates operating in a range of key business areas, including property, insurance and capital markets.”
The website helped Cains to take ownership of a number of the brand’s visual assets. The brand identity, colour palette and photography where all reviewed and new photograph commissioned to make the team more open and approachable.
Committed to the Isle of Man
The design also used a number of celtic pattern illustrations to link topics together as well as reflecting the ancient cultural heritage of the Isle of Man through their use. This visual motif embodies Cains committed to the future development of the Isle of Man.
“They’re good academic lawyers but client-focused too, and that makes them stand out.”Chambers
